Due to the naturalness of TENCEL®, ropes in the agricultural sector are the future. TENCEL® is as strong as steel but compostable.
TENCEL® has a future in many technical textiles applications. The market demands new sustainable materials which are environmentally responsible, made with renewable materials. TENCEL® offers all of these properties. It is made of wood in a closed loop, energy efficient process and its tenacity profile is the strongest of all cellulose fibers.
The TENCEL® fiber has excellent moisture management. TENCEL® absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton into the inside of the fiber. Thanks to this property, the fiber can be used as a comfort fiber for many applications. In particular for performance textiles in athletic clothing and for shoes, TENCEL® offers important value added benefits.

In the packaging sector and in agriculture, compostable materials are in demand. The TENCEL® fiber is made of wood and is 100% compostable. Tests carried out confirm that TENCEL® is bio-degradable and compostable. TENCEL® comes from Nature and returns to Nature – a sustained cycle.
The highest temperatures
When it comes to coatings, TENCEL® is ideal. Compared to cotton, TENCEL® has no impurities and can be used as a carrier material without any pre-treatment. Another asset is the temperature resistance of TENCEL®. TENCEL® performs well in coatings work performed at high temperatures.
TENCEL® retains its high tenacity profile throughout various production processes. Even at the highest temperatures, TENCEL® does not lose any of its strength. TENCEL® can be used as a natural material that can replace anything from synthetics to steel.
